Dresden - Guided Tour Old Town

The old town of Dresden impresses with many sights within small walking distances. Start the tour for example on the Theater Square, one of the most beautiful places in the city, and you will immediately see the Opera House, the Catholic Court Church, the Royal Residence Palace and the Zwinger.

The Zwinger is one of the most famous Baroque buildings in Germany. Enter the courtyard and you will get to know what it was used for. The Taschenbergpalais is right behind the Zwinger.
It was built in the 18th century and it was a present. For whom and by whom?

The secret will be disclosed during the tour. The tour continues to the Procession of Princes, the biggest Meissen porcelain mural in the world, up to the Bruehls Terrace and finally to the New Market Square with the protestant Church of our Lady.

Back in the center you will cross again the Elbe to go to the New Town with the Baroque King Street, the Albert Square and the governmental district.

Dresden - Guided Tour New Town

Today's New Town was originally named Old Dresden but the destruction by fire in the 17th century caused the reconstruction and the changing of the name to New Town.

Enjoy at first the so named 'Canaletto view' from the Japanese Palace to the historical old town before you go to the Golden Horseman across the Main Street to the Albert Square which is the border between Inner and Outer New Town.

The Outer Newtown is nowadays well known for artists, students, pubs and bars but also for the houses with their little backyards from the Foundation years.

Last but not least you will see the famous Pfund's dairy. It is according to the Guinness Book of Records the most beautiful milk shop in the world.
