Meissen

Meissen is named the cradle of Saxony and impresses with its market places surrounded by precious houses from the Renaissance and Gothic period.
Narrow lanes lead up to the Albrechtsburg castle and cathedral.

The Albrechtsburg castle is the oldest castle in Germany. It was the home of Europe's first porcelain factory and is nowadays a museum worth to see not only because of its architecture.
Meissen is also famous for its porcelain manufactory, founded in the 18th century. Hear more about the production of the 'white gold' and admire porcelain pieces from the last 300 years. (entrance fees not included)

Moritzburg

Moritzburg is well known for one of the most beautiful water castles in Germany.
It was originally built in the 15th century by Duke Moritz as a hunting castle. Then it was changed in the Baroque castle by Augustus the Strong in the 18th century.

You will hear more about the castle, the hunting and the surrounding ponds during a guided tour through the castle which houses the 'Feather room', leather wall papers and one of the biggest antler collections in Europe.
